Senior Registered Nurse - Residential programsOverviewRequisition Number:7802Date Posted:9/25/2024Location:Pecora CenterAddress:139 Cornell StreetCity:KingstonCategory:Clinical/NursingDescriptionWe are seeking a full-time Senior Registered Nurse (Sr. RN) to provide leadership and manage a team of six (6) RNs who provide nursing services to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities i n our Saugerties Region and Northern Region (Greene County locations and one in Columbia County).Under the direction of the Director of Nursing (DON), the Sr. RN must possess, pursue and have an understanding in Healthcare needs of Developmentally Disabled Adults in compliance with state and local regulations.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Assist the DON with developing and maintaining systems to ensure the provision of optimal nursing service delivery while keeping with the agency's mission and philosophy, as well as all relevant federal and state regulations (including Parts 633, 635, and 624), and current standards of nursing while providing focus to The Council on Quality and Leadership and Personal Outcome Measures(CQL/POM) principles and practices, fiscal principals, local, state and federal regulations as well as any other necessary provisions to ensure quality of services to individuals.Assist the DON with review of agency policies and procedures insuring compliance with state and federal regulations and standards.Maintain systems to ensure 24 hour, daily RN availability for individuals in our Residential Programs and ensure consistent nursing service delivery in adult day programs.Oversee agency-specific Medication Administration Course, utilizing OPWDD mandated curriculum.Serve as liaison between The Arc Mid-Hudson and other service providers, such as pharmacy, local hospitals, rehabilitation centers, etc.Serve as the agency's nursing representative with DOH, OPWDD, and other relevant government oversight agencies.Oversee vendor contracts for health services and supplies.Administratively and clinically supervises all RNs within the agency which will also include hiring, orientation, retention, training, and appraisals.Act as the liaison between the DON and the Residential RNs.Provide oversight and guidance to the RNs and LPNs in assuring their programs are in compliance with program regulations as they pertain to healthcare and in accordance with state & federal regulations.Provides specialized training for staff and persons supported.Develops policies and procedures related to health issues, with input from nursing staff, and Executive Administration.Participates directly or indirectly in agency committees, chairperson for AMAP review committee.Attends leadership and other administrative meetings.The main nursing office is located in Kingston - this position will spend time in this office and also in the field, working with their team members.HOURS: 40/Monday through Friday/days, with flexibilitySTARTING SALARY: $79,456 to $ 92,566.24 per yearMinimum RequirementsGraduate of accredited school of Registered Nursing; Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.Current NYS license as a Registered Professional Nurse within a hospital, nursing home, or residential setting preferred.Minimum of five years' experience working with individuals with I/DD, three of which were supervisory.Strong supervisory and/or managerial skills required including the ability to communicate effectively with diverse personalities and all levels of associates throughout the agency; strong interpersonal/ human relation skills.Certified Developmental Disabilities Nurse (CDDN) preferred.Ability to motivate and direct others.Excellent organization and computer skills and effective time management skills.Knowledge of OPWDD regulations and practices.
