Florida State Hospital is seeking a Senior Registered Nurse Supervisor to lead our nursing team, ensuring high-quality care and support for residents.Specific Duties and Responsibilities include:
  • Leadership & Supervision: Oversee nursing and direct care staff, including Registered Nurse Supervisors and night shift personnel, providing 24/7 guidance.
  • Nursing Care Quality: Monitor, evaluate, and ensure the delivery of top-tier nursing care. Conduct audits, implement improvement plans, and maintain compliance with federal, state, and hospital guidelines.
  • Team Management: Lead, motivate, and evaluate nursing staff. Participate in hiring, training, and disciplinary actions to maintain professional standards.
  • Program Development: Develop and revise nursing policies and procedures. Coordinate quality assurance and infection control activities.
  • Patient Care: Engage in treatment planning, conduct nursing assessments, and participate in patient education for community reintegration.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Assist with disaster planning, emergency evacuations, and safety compliance.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required for the position:
  • Knowledge of nursing principles, practices and techniques.
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
  • Ability to work with patients having a variety of physical problems.
  • Ability to supervise people.
  • Ability to determine work priorities, assign work and ensure proper completion of work assignments.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464 and three years of Registered Nursing experience, including at least one year in a specialty area or Masters of Science degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
