The first proposed approach to accomplishing this goal is to build and sustain partnerships with our USDA offices, public schools, and surrounding 4H clubs to introduce youth to FANH and USDA careers at an early age through peer-to-peer mentoring.Duties and Responsibilities: Management of the UAPB Discovery Farm Educational center including managing animals and water quality conservation demonstrations.Assist animal science faculty and the UAPB Discovery Farm Educational center outreach director in outreach, education, and research.Oversee cleanliness and maintenance of animal and poultry facilities.Facilitate student outreach activities during laboratory sessions and on and off campus farm demonstrations.Conduct tours on the farm. Other detailed job responsibilities include: Clearing, mowing, etc.Setting up and maintaining water quality stations and farm demonstrations.Frequent sampling and water quality data collection.Analyze and record sample collections.Conducting/maintaining/recording data protocols on the farm.Mentor/Supervise student extra-help on farm.Facility maintenance including fences.Check all plumbing & hydrants and report issues immediately. Qualifications:A minimum of high school diploma with 8+ years of experience or B.S. in Environmental Biology or Animal Science or related field with 2+ years of experience.
