Position Overview:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-driven, and collaborative Research Associate II / Senior Research Associate. This role will primarily focus on cell biology, with occasional involvement in protein engineering, production, and analytical functions. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in one or more key areas, a strong desire to learn new techniques, excellent critical thinking and troubleshooting skills, and a passion for contributing to the growth of a new company.

Key Responsibilities:

- Produce antibodies and bispecifics using transiently expressing cell lines (experience with Expi293 and AKTA systems is a plus).

- Design and conduct in vitro biochemical and cell-based assays to evaluate early-stage bispecific antibody therapeutics.

- Collaborate effectively in a small team while also working independently.

- Maintain and catalog mammalian cancer cell lines.

- Source and maintain laboratory equipment.

- Transfect and produce antibodies and other proteins from mammalian cells.

- Purify proteins using various chromatography techniques, including affinity, ion exchange (IEX), and size exclusion (SEC).

- Characterize proteins through affinity determination, competitive binding assays, and epitope mapping using Biolayer Interferometry (BLI).

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Cell Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, or a related field with 4+ years of industry experience, or a Master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.

Core Competencies:

- Experience with transient mammalian protein expression (CHO and HEK) is advantageous.

- Familiarity with protein purification and quality control techniques (e.g., AKTA, SDS-PAGE, SEC, endotoxin assays) is a plus.

- Knowledge of protein characterization using BLI and/or Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) is beneficial.

- Strong documentation, organizational, teamwork, and communication skills are essential.
