Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. We are two of New York City's leading human services organizations meeting the needs of children, youth and families, homeless individuals, and older adults through-out Manhattan and New York City. The Isaacs Center focuses primarily on the needs of children and low-income families, out-of-school and out-of-work youth, and aging New Yorkers. We operate at community centers located in the neighborhoods of East Harlem and Yorkville, and seek to deliver programs that are impactful, innovative, and intergenerational.Program Description: Goddard Riverside is excited to announce the agency is diving back into settlement roots and becoming a resource to Asylum Seekers in New York City! Goddard's newest endeavor will be a Sanctuary Site for migrant families. This site will be a place where families can feel safe, receive resources and support, while becoming acclimated and part of the community.Purpose of Position: is to assist families in daily living skills as they resettle in NYC. RA team will ensure clients are getting acclimated to their living situation, following rules & regulations of the site, and assist in monitoring the residence. R esidential Aid staff are the first welcoming face new families are greeted by!Schedule: Sunday-Thursday 3pm-11 pm; 11pm-7amSalary Range: Between$43,000 to $47,000Bilingual: $45,000-$47,000Non-bilingual: $43,000-$45,000Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. The salary offer will be based on the candidate's number of years experience in the exact or comparable position and additional preferred qualifications will be taken into account.Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential DutiesComplete regular and routine resident and facility checks to ensure that residents are not at risk and that facility management is aware of potential hazards (leaks, fire, destruction of property, etc.).Ensure compliance with all health, fire, and safety codes, ensure timely handling of all violations, prevent violations whenever possible.Assist in the monitoring and development of resident's daily independent living skills.Establish and cultivate professional and positive relationships with families.Utilize evidence-based practice models including person centered planning, motivational interviewing, trauma informed care, culturally sensitive, and strengths-based approaches.Escort clients via public transportation to appointments as needed.Co-Facilitate and participate in social emotional driven learning groups and activities for families.Perform and confirm all daily room and bed inspections are taking place.Manage operations desk: ensure documentation of client whereabouts, answer phones when necessary.Work collaboratively with building staff to assist tenants and ensure tenant safety.Document incidents onsite in CARES and send to Goddard Incident Report Committee.Report any concerns on quality service deliverables to management in a timely manner.Monitor common areas to ensure proper usage.Conduct intakes during evenings, overnights, and weekends as needed.Document in CARES intake system and ensure all clients are admitted in a timely fashion.Provide daily food service and ensure food delivery is stored immediately.Help maintain the cleanliness of the building and monitor common areas.Participate in staff meetings where resident issues, operations, policies, procedures, and program outcomes are discussed.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications/ Educational RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED required, Associate's degree preferred.Experience in shelter or residential settingBilingual in English, Spanish, French, or Creole (written and spoken) required.Food Protection Certificate will be required during first few weeks of hire.Driver's License preferred.Skills, Knowledge and AbilitiesC ultural awareness and understanding of client centered care.Passion for working with individuals and families who are in transitional housing.Excellent communication skills, utilize de-escalation techniques.Ability to maintain accurate records, to prepare and submit all required paperwork in a timely and accurate manner Knowledge of DHS requirements and protocols.Ability to deal with sensitive issues with diplomacy and discretion.Must be able to multitask with strong organizational skills.Detail orientated and systems savvy.Compassionate and personableTeam-orientatedComputer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be:Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, OneDrive Excel, etc.Able to use or learn multiple databases including CARES.Physical Requirements:Frequent bending, kneeling, walking, climbing and lifting to 50 lbs.Work EnvironmentResidence is in a Hotel SettingDesignated kitchen area to serve food.Occasional visits to client roomsEscort residents to appointments as needed.Outdoor work required.Employee Benefits :Medical/Dental/VisionLife Insurance/Commuter benefits/Employee Assistance Program (EAP)/Flexible Spending Accounts403B Thrift Retirement Plan12 Annual Sick Days12 Agency Holidays20 Days or 4 Weeks of Paid Time off and an additional week (5) days after 5 years of employmentTotal of more than 6 weeks (a month and half) of paid time offWe are committed to building an inclusive workplace community grounded in respect for differences.
