Extreme Event Solutions at Verisk (formerly AIR Worldwide) is a leader in the liability catastrophe modelling space and is looking for a highly passionate, motivated individual to join the Arium Consulting and Client Services Group. As a leader in Verisk's consulting and client services team you will help our clients quantify and mitigate risks associated with casualty/liability catastrophes by providing exceptional services to our insurance and reinsurance clients.

This is a client facing role and your responsibilities will include client account management, client training, leading consulting projects as well as answering client questions. You will use your technical, analytical, and project management skills to work with clients to enhance their use of the Verisk Liability Analytics platform, Arium, and help troubleshoot any software-related issues.

You will also work closely across the software development and product teams with the potential to participate in research or model development projects.

The role is based in New Jersey or Boston, with the requirement for occasional travel.

About the Day-to-Day Responsibilities for Senior Risk Consultant – Arium
  • Provide day to day support helping clients use the Arium casualty catastrophe modelling platform, including via APIs.
  • Be the primary contact for assigned clients and build relationships with key Arium users.
  • Provide training to help clients understand and use the Arium software and models effectively.
  • Lead consultancy projects for clients to help them derive additional insights into their casualty portfolio and reliably assess and manage their catastrophe loss potential through interpretation of modelled output.
  • Lead projects to test new software features ahead of release to clients to ensure client requirements are met and user experience is enhanced.
  • Perform portfolio management studies to help clients understand model change.
  • Help to develop bespoke solutions for client workflow needs using APIs.
  • Work with product and software teams to develop improvements to client workflows.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging risks and developing issues in casualty catastrophe risk management.
  • Participate in pre-sale presentations and conduct software demos to prospective clients.
Qualifications

About You and How You Can Excel in This Role

  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in catastrophe modeling, or an aligned industry, with a strong background in consulting and client services.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in using Verisk's casualty modeling platform, Arium, with hands-on experience of this platform.
  • Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of insurance and reinsurance markets.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with a solid understanding of probability concepts and excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and team members.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Power BI, and experience of using APIs. Ability to troubleshoot code using Python.
  • Team Leadership: Ability to encourage team members to develop themselves and work independently and collaboratively as required.
  • Client Service: A strong commitment to providing excellent client service and maintaining good client relationships.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accuracy in work.

Education and Experience

  • A Degree is required, preferably in insurance, mathematics, actuarial science, computer science or business.
