Senior Safety Manager Palmyra, NJ Yearly Salary: $95,000-$115,000 The Sr. Safety Manager is responsible for accident prevention. Oversees and administers the safety program across all locations. Assists with management of Workman's Compensation, conducts plant safety training and inspections. The Top-priority of this position is to promote a company wide safety culture where workers assume responsibility for their own safe behavior.
Responsibilities: - Implementing safety management systems, assessing hazards and controls, determining worksite risks, investigating incidents, maintaining loss and incident records and preparing emergency response plans
- Developing and implementing facility-wide health and corporate safety programs
- Accident prevention - correct and/or report any unsafe working conditions before they result in an accident
- Identify and implement efficiency improvements, cost reductions and profit improvement initiatives
- Support the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and the company Quality Policy
- Lead and prepare near miss, accident, and incident investigations and analysis to determine causes and preventive measures
- Follow up on corrective/preventative actions identified in walk through inspections, and accidents/near miss investigations
- Responsible for the continued development of Safety Programs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA & EPA regulations and standards
- Conduct safety inspections, safety reporting, protocols, and procedures
- Conduct safety meetings and maintains high awareness and personnel commitment to safety by all members of the team
- Conduct safety training for new hires and semiannual refresher courses
- Manage required certifications, including fork truck, welding, respirators, LOTO, CPR, etc...
- Maintain MSDS file and related hazardous material training
- Change agent to promote an internalized (self-responsible) safety culture
- Manage the Right to Know and annual VOC reporting to the EPA
Requirements
- Bilingual-Spanish is a PLUS
- Knowledge fluency of OHSA regulations
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field
- Must possess one of the following certifications and provide documentation: *Certified Safety Professional (CSP) *Master Safety Professional (MSP) *Certified Safety Director (CSD) *Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
- Experience in industrial/manufacturing fields is a MUST
- Minimum 15+ years with safety implementation in manufacturing environment
- Environmental compliance experience is a plus
- Experience with behavioral based safety
- Proven track record of process improvement and cultural change
- Self-motivator, able to meet deadlines and able to adapt to change
- Ability to work independently but also with a team
