QUALIFICATIONS:

CCISD EMPLOYEES ONLY - THIS IS AN INTERNAL ANNOUNCEMENT. To apply you must already be a full-time CCISD Employee, with employment that is continuing through the 2024-25 School Year (not resigning, not in a position where funding is expiring, NOT open to tutors, temps, or substitutes).

Education/Certification

Required:

* High School Graduate or Equivalent

* Must possess a valid Texas License to Carry or be eligible to receive a LTC

* Must possess or be able to complete a School Marshall, DPS school safety officer course or similar training.

Preferred:

* Level 3 Security Certified

Other Requirements:

* Must be a U.S. Citizen

* Must be of good moral character

* Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language proficiently

* Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language proficiently

* Must not be on probation for any criminal offense above the grade Class C misdemeanor; not have been convicted of a Class A misdemeanor offense within the last 12 months; not have been convicted of a Class B misdemeanor within the last six months; not have been convicted of the offense of driving while intoxicated or driving under the influence of drugs within the last 24 months; not have been convicted at any time of a felony offense

* Must possess a valid Texas Operator's or Class C driver's license and be insurable by the District

* Must be in good physical and mental condition

Special Knowledge/Skills:

* Must be able to deal effectively and professionally with personnel of other law enforcement agencies, the judiciary, CCISD personnel and citizens of the community

* Possess good report writing skills and the ability to interview witnesses Knowledge and use of two-way radio communications

* Possess knowledge and use of Computers and various software

Experience Required:

* One-year experience in the military, police, EMS, security field, school volunteer in hall monitoring, or school-related experience in other areas

FUNCTION:

Provide armed protection and monitoring of all Corpus Christi Independent School District (District) students, district personnel and the general public while on CCISD property or property under the control of the District. This security monitoring is extended to include all property owned, used or under the control of the District. Under the supervision of the District Police Officer, they are responsible for promptly reporting incidents and security concerns involving students, property, and the general public that occur on district properties to School District Police Officers or campus administrators.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS:

* Assigned to school campus sites and properties of the Corpus Christi Independent School District as directed by the supervisor

* Responds to all job-related calls for assistance from school administrators, faculty, staff or superior officer

* Assists school district police officer and campus administrators in conducting investigations or disturbances that may occur on CCISD property or jurisdiction

* Prepares and submits all required reports in a timely manner

* Assists campus administrators in enforcing all applicable rules, regulations, and policies of the Corpus Christi Independent School District

* Properly cares for all property and equipment assigned or entrusted to them

* Performs all job-related duties as assigned by a campus administrator or campus officer

* Performs duties indoors and outdoors, at night and on weekends and holidays, under hazardous conditions

Working Conditions:

* Requires some lifting

* Works indoors, outdoors, and at times during inclement weather

* May be required to work weekends, holidays, and after-hours activities Some of the work may be under hazardous conditions
