Summary:

Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Senior Scheduler with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing data center environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

The Senior Scheduling Engineer will provide oversight of all planning and scheduling activities.

Responsibilities:

Provide oversight of all planning and scheduling activities

* Plan, coordinate, supervise, and direct planning and scheduling activities

* Ensure that corporate planning and schedule stands are implemented and that all project related activities comply

Provide oversight and supervision of scheduling team

* Coach, mentor, and train field personnel, forepersons, and assistant superintendents

* Establish and nurture teamwork environment

* Ensure crews have resources and support

* Provide work direction and performance evaluations

* Identify hiring needs and participate in hiring, discipline, and dismissal decisions if needed

* Develop leadership potential through appropriate task assignments and career growth opportunities

* Implement Mortenson's Zero Injury Safety Program at project site

* Manage open shop and union issues

Other duties as assigned

* Maintain relationships with all visitors to the site: customers, architects, union representatives, subcontractors, et al.

* Manage site work and logistics efficiently, providing suggestions for improvement

Required Skills:

* Minimum of six (6) years construction experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience

* Thorough knowledge of scheduling concepts, principles, practices, and company software

* Thorough knowledge of standard construction practices and project sequencing

* Shown ability to exercise creativity and mature judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented problems on complex projects

* Strong plan and specification reading, review and interpretation skills

* Basic knowledge of project management, contracts, and buyout

* Working knowledge of 4D visual planning methodologies

* Strong organization and team skills

* Basic knowledge of cost and resource loaded schedules

* Basic knowledge of claims avoidance and resolution techniques

* Ability to work in a cross-functional, collaborative, team-based environment

* Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with initiative to seek innovative solutions

* Results-oriented to ensure delivery of appropriate products and services in an accurate, complete, and timely fashion

* Excellent oral and written communication skills

* Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback

* Ability to travel may be required based on operating group

* Current driver's license

Education:

* Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field
