Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Scheduler to join our team, overseeing the planning and scheduling of large-scale federal construction projects. As a key member of the project management team, you will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules to ensure timely delivery. You will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and federal agencies to manage project timelines and support overall project success. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction scheduling, particularly with federal projects, and a deep understanding of construction practices, software tools, and contract requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain project schedules: Create and update detailed construction schedules using industry-standard software (Primavera) ensuring alignment with project plans and milestones.
• Collaborate with project teams: Work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and federal representatives to review and analyze schedules, ensuring all project activities are on track.
• Track project progress: Monitor project schedules regularly, track progress, and report on potential delays or changes. Provide recommendations to mitigate scheduling risks and improve efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with federal requirements: Ensure that all schedules meet the compliance standards and reporting requirements of federal agencies, including critical path and resource loading analysis.
• Prepare and present reports: Create detailed reports, presentations, and analyses for internal stakeholders and federal clients, explaining schedule progress, variances, and recovery plans.
• Schedule coordination: Coordinate with various trades and stakeholders to ensure proper sequencing of activities, minimize conflicts, and optimize resource utilization.
• Support claims and change orders: Assist in the development of time impact analyses and documentation to support project claims, change orders, and extension of time requests.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of experience in scheduling for large commercial or federal construction projects, with a focus on general contracting.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 and other scheduling software (MS Project, Asta, etc.).
• Thorough understanding of federal construction regulations, including FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations).
• Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and other scheduling and reporting methods used in federal projects.
• Strong ability to interpret construction drawings, plans, and contracts.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze complex project data, provide accurate forecasts, and present findings clearly to all project participants.
• Familiarity with construction methodologies and processes, particularly in civil, industrial, and building projects.
