- Execution of in vitro experiments in cell lines, primary neurons, iPSC-derived neurons and glia culture.
- Build and execute biochemical and cell-based assays to support novel Parkinson's disease target validation.
- Collaborate with and support cellular and molecular biologists, in vivo pharmacologists and medicinal chemists across research sites.
- Support the training and guidance of junior research associates and interns, fostering a collaborative and productive research environment.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in Parkinson's Disease research by attending relevant conferences and workshops.
- Contribute to the preparation of research publications, presentations, and grant proposals, showcasing the team's contributions to the field.
- Maintain organized and comprehensive records of experiments, results, and protocols in adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Uphold a culture of safety by strictly following laboratory protocols and promoting best practices in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications
- Typically Postdoc fellowship plus 2 years; or Ph.D. plus 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's plus 14 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor's plus 16 years of relevant experience in Neuroscience or Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology.
- Experience in Parkinson's disease or related neurodegenerative disease research preferred. Prior experience in drug discovery a plus.
- Highly proficient in cell culture techniques, including primary neurons and glia. Experience in iPSC-derived cells and/or complex co-culture model systems an asset.
- Proficiency with standard cell biology, biochemistry, enzymology and neuroscience techniques including confocal microscopy/high-content imaging, protein detection & quantification (such as ELISA, MSD), and enzyme kinetic assays.
- Extensive bench research experience and enjoy a laboratory-focused role in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to design, execute and interpret experiments independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills paired with a strong work ethic.
