Job Description:
Job Summary:NIC Industries is seeking a Senior Scientist to join our Research and Development team. In this role, you will be a key technical advisor, collaborating with the Associate Director of Products and R&D Chemists. You'll contribute to the development of cutting-edge polymer materials for high-performance coatings, leading initiatives to create, test, and scale innovative solutions. This is an opportunity for an experienced chemist with a passion for innovation and expertise in materials science to make a significant impact on our product line and overall business strategy.Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate chemical innovations into new and existing products.
  • Lead the scale-up process for new polymers, ensuring smooth transition to plant operations.
  • Conduct instrumental analysis and manage the production of large-scale intermediates.
  • Design, execute, and analyze experiments to create new materials and coatings.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for complex formulation and production challenges.
  • Manage relationships with external partners, suppliers, and research institutions to advance project goals.
  • Develop testing protocols and ensure product compliance with quality standards.
  • Oversee the transition of new products from R&D to full-scale manufacturing.
Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Deliver timely and accurate project reports, technical documentation, and presentations to senior leadership.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Use advanced analytical techniques to improve product performance and troubleshoot challenges.
  • Provide expert guidance to junior R&D chemists and foster an innovative team environment.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field, with 10+ years of experience.
  • Strong background in organic, inorganic, or analytical chemistry.
  • Proven experience in polymer or coatings development, and process optimization.
  • Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication abilities, with experience preparing technical reports and presenting findings.
  • Proficiency in laboratory equipment and advanced analysis software.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the chemical, pharmaceutical, or materials science industries.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards (ISO, GMP, etc.).
Working Conditions:
  • Exposure to hazardous substances; strict adherence to safety protocols required.
  • Ability to work in a loud environment, with occasional moderate physical activity.
