TheRed Team is part of our Resilience Engineering organization and our mission is to continuously increase the resilience of Datadog against sophisticated attacks by running simulations to verify our company's preparedness. By acting from a hostile perspective, we uncover technical and organizational vulnerabilities and challenge our engineer's operational ability to react under real conditions. We are looking for a senior security engineer to join our growing Red Team in order to help Datadog evaluate the true impact of its threats, form a better understanding of how we need to harden assets to prevent future attacks, and identify broad security risks that were previously unconfirmed. You will work closely with internal engineering and security teams to drive the improvement of Datadog's security posture, detection effectiveness and security incident response capabilities. At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them. What You'll Do:
- You will perform Red and Purple Team exercises to evaluate gaps in our defense in collaboration with our blue teams
- Advocate for security change across the company through building partnerships and clearly communicating impact of risks
- Prototype tools and techniques to increase adversarial simulation efficiency
- Investigate the impact of emerging vulnerabilities and conduct vulnerability research
- Work closely with engineering teams to mitigate or remediate security vulnerabilities
- Assist in incident response activities
Who You Are:
- You have 5+ years of experience with red team operations, pentesting cloud based environments, networks, software development technologies, and web applications
- You have 2+ years of experience in leading cross-functional projects
- You are an excellent communicator who enjoys collaborating with others, and approaches problems with curiosity and empathy
- You are committed to developing yourself and learning new skills
- You understand the security principles and experience in assessing security of AWS, Azure, GCP and/or other cloud providers
- You understand the security principles and experience in assessing Kubernetes and container security
- You are comfortable with one or more programming languages (Python, Go, Java, etc.)
- You have a BS/MS/PhD in a Computer Science, Engineering or related scientific field or equivalent experience
