Assist supervisor in overseeing colleague performance and scheduling.Helps to ensure that policies, practices, and procedures are understood and followed.Perform all Shift Lead duties while taking on additional responsibilities.Oversee and coordinate the activities of production workers under direction the Superintendent.Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory policies. Promote a safe working environment.Ensure compliance with all Greif policies and expectations.Monitor production quality and ensure adherence to quality control standards.Adhere to and prioritize production schedules and ensure deadlines are met.May train new production workers on processes, equipment operation, and safety protocols. Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge.Coordinate with inventory control to ensure raw materials and supplies are available for production. Monitor inventory levels and make recommendations for orders as needed.May collaborate with maintenance staff to ensure machinery and equipment are maintained and in good working condition.Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.Provide regular updates to management on production metrics and issues. May maintain production records, prepare reports, and analyze data to measure productivity and efficiency.May operate machinery or work production line positions as needed to cover absences.Act as the point of contact for colleagues in the absence of the Supervisor.Escalate issues of Safety, policy, quality or behavioral compliance concerns to Superintendent.Collaborate with other departments and senior management for operational efficiency.Assist in implementing and managing strategic projects or initiatives that impact the shift or department.Review and analyze performance metrics, report on operational effectiveness, and identify areas for improvement.Conduct pre-shift and or other meetings as required.Participate in advanced Training to prepare for a potential supervisory role.Skills and Qualifications:5 years' experience in a leadership role, in a manufacturing setting.Problem-solving, conflict resolution, and analytical abilities.Leadership: Strong leadership and communication skills, with a focus on mentoring and developing team members.Administrative Proficiency: Experience with administrative tasks such as scheduling, reporting, and strategic planning.Microsoft Office and computer proficiency.Training and Development:Participate in Supervisory Training.Actively engage in training programs and mentorship designed to prepare for a potential future supervisory role.Train on higher-level management tasks and responsibilities to include the following:People Management and Policy ComplianceHealth, Safety, and ComplianceGreif Policy ComplianceEssential Supervisory SkillsEmployee Development and Performance ManagementBuilding Team EffectivenessInterviewing and OnboardingAnalytical and Operational ActivitiesRoot Cause AnalysisProduction Scheduling and PlanningCost AnalysisResource UtilizationQuality Control and AssuranceSafety Performance AnalysisTraining Needs AssessmentProcess ImprovementInventory ManagementProduction Capacity AnalysisLean Manufacturing#LI-MK140EEO Statement: offer a competitive salary, excellent benefits and opportunity for growth.
