This Position: As a Senior Software Engineer (AI Cloud Development) at gWorks, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimizing AI-powered, cloud-native solutions that empower small local governments. This role combines deep technical expertise in cloud platforms like AWS, strong leadership capabilities, and a passion for integrating AI technologies to deliver innovative, scalable, and high-performing software. The ideal candidate is a seasoned engineer with a vision for modernizing legacy systems, mentoring teams, and driving technical excellence in a collaborative environment. The Expectation: Design and Development:
- Architect and implement scalable, cloud-native solutions with integrated AI capabilities.
- Modernize legacy systems, transitioning them into cloud-based SaaS platforms aligned with industry standards.
- Develop and optimize APIs to enable seamless communication with AI models and systems.
Performance and Scalability:
- Ensure the high availability, performance, and scalability of cloud-based solutions.
- Utilize CI/CD pipelines and Agile methodologies to streamline the software development lifecycle.
Collaboration and Leadership:
- Mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of excellence.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including AI engineers, QA specialists, product managers, and other stakeholders.
AI Integration:

- Troubleshoot and optimize AI model performance in production environments, ensuring reliability and effectiveness.

The successful Senior Software Engineer (AI Cloud Development) will have: Qualifications:
- 5+ years of full stack software engineering experience with a strong foundation in C#.NET MVC, Angular, and cloud-native architectures.
- Proficiency in AWS services and microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with AI technologies, including model deployment, optimization, and API integration.
- Proven experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives.
- Skilled in collaborating with nearshore and offshore teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Eagerness to stay current with emerging trends in AI and cloud computing.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
- Deliver projects on time, maintaining high standards of quality and performance.
- Uphold architectural integrity while incorporating cutting-edge AI solutions.

Work Location and Arrangement: gWorks is a hybrid work environment, and preference will be given to candidates who are local to the Omaha, Nebraska area. However, highly qualified candidates who reside outside of the local area and are able to work remotely will also be considered.
