What's the role?:

The Team

The HERE SDK for Mobile provides a set of programming interfaces that enables developers to build immersive native applications while leveraging our powerful and flexible Open Location Platform.

With features such as routing, turn-by-turn voice guidance, search, interactive 2D and 3D vector maps, and much more, we allow our customers to develop powerful location-based applications natively on different platforms like Android and iOS.

To make all of that happen, and deliver the best quality in the market, we are growing our engineering team and are searching for an excellent C++ developer!

What youll be doing

As a Senior Software Engineer for Navigation, you will be a key member of our growing SDK engineering team. You will be part of the Navigation team, to develop the Routing and Guidance components used in the new HERE SDK, as well as related products within the company. This position requires fluency in modern versions of C++ standard (we use C++17). You are motivated to explore and deliver the best possible solutions to our customers with very high quality. You should have a passion for technology and a customer-centric product sense. You should enjoy working outside your comfort zone and love to learn new technologies.

The position will be based in Berlin and will report to the Senior Engineering Manager of the HERE SDK Team.

Who are you?:

• Bachelor/Master in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar technical degree
• Experience working in an Agile development environment (Scrum or Kanban)
• Proficiency in algorithms and data structures
• In-depth knowledge of C++11/14/17 standards
• Extensive experience with the Standard Template Library
• Good understanding of object-oriented principles
• Comfort with multi-threading development
• Excellent collaborative and communication skills
• Fluency in written and spoken English

Would be a plus

• Knowledge of location-based services such as mapping, navigation, GPS
• Knowledge of Boost C++ libraries
• Knowledge of CMake/Gradle or other modern build system
• Knowledge of programming Flutter and/or Dart
• Knowledge of programming iOS (Swift) and Android (Java/ Kotlin)
