Candidates living within commutable distance of Etsy's Brooklyn Office Hub or in the San Francisco Bay Area may be the first to be considered. Your work will have a multiplier effect, touching all of Etsy's product teams as well as every piece of the customer journey. Listings is a cross-functional, cross platform initiative made up of 20+ web and native engineers who are fun, curious, collaborative and passionate leaders - if that resonates with you, please join us!What does the day-to-day look like?Be responsible for the design, development and implementation of highly maintainable and scalable systems by contributing at all levels of our web application stackCollaborate with teammates to independently tackle well-scoped problems, regularly deliver work to end users and be a primary contributor to team's goalsContribute to and lead projects - such as enhancing the information architecture of the product detail screen and make it easier to build new features through product as well as technical investmentsCreate and update reusable components that are used by product teams across all of EtsyProvide daily support for peers across Etsy (ex. Writing documentation, reviewing pull requests, answering Slack questions)Identify and propose tracks of work and tech debt that move our product forwardServe as an advocate for engineering best practices and contribute to the engineering visionBe a mentor and guide to fellow engineersOf course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require!
