Our fintech client is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Corporate Technology team to develop and enhance platforms supporting various business functions, including Operations, Finance, Legal, and Compliance. The role involves both individual contributions and participation in architectural design. Candidates should be proactive in managing projects, defining problems, gathering requirements, and proposing solutions while building strong relationships with both engineering teams and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain software systems using Kotlin, Python, Snowflake, Postgres, AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Work on full-stack applications handling data connectivity within and beyond NYDIG.
- Make strategic decisions on scope for new and existing software development.
- Ensure security and data governance are integral in software development.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in backend or full-stack roles, with a focus on reliable, low-maintenance software.
- Strong opinions on improving team productivity, code quality, and culture.
- Excellent communication skills, especially in describing system architecture.
- Experience in JVM languages or Python.
- Knowledge of data modeling, querying, and database implementation.
- BS in Computer Science or related field.
Preferred:
- Experience with deploying to cloud platforms using containers.
- Exposure to systems where security and data governance are key.
- Experience with modern data architecture, such as data lakes and warehousing.
