Job Description: General Statement of Duties: We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Student Wellness Specialist to enhance our current service delivery by developing and implementing a variety of programs and small group initiatives focused on student wellness, executive functioning, and overall college student well-being. The specialist will provide timely access to support through interactive workshops, drop-in hours, and visible community-building activities across all campuses. They will facilitate group support programs, conduct wellness workshops on topics such as stress management, time management, and study skills, and coordinate resources to empower students in their academic and personal lives. Additionally, the specialist will manage administrative tasks and work to increase the office's visibility. By addressing both immediate concerns and broader wellness topics through programmatic efforts and small group interactions, this position will contribute significantly to enhancing student well-being and engagement. Responsibilities: Facilitate Group Support Programs and Workshops:
  • Develop and lead group workshops on topics such as test anxiety management, executive functioning skills, creative arts, meal planning, budgeting, life skills, understanding neurodiversity, academic planning, resource access, and general college student mental health topics.
  • Design and implement wellness workshops that promote proactive wellness initiatives across all campuses.
  • Co-facilitate new student programming workshops to encourage attendance and community building.
Provide Timely Access to Support:
  • Offer designated drop-in hours for students to discuss minor concerns such as academic struggles, social integration, and making friends that don't necessarily require higher-level clinical intervention.
  • Assist new students with the transition to college life by providing a safe, accepting, and helpful environment.
  • Help students reach their academic, social, and personal goals by connecting them to appropriate campus resources and professionals based on individual needs.
Enhance Community-Building Activities:
  • Participate in and lead social events to encourage community building among students.
  • Communicate with students about upcoming campus and community events.
  • Demonstrate appropriate behaviors inside and outside of the classroom to serve as a role model.
  • Provide mentorship, supervision, and enriching programs to participants in our educational initiatives.
  • Assist in supervising participants during scheduled program activities and outings.
Increase Office Visibility and Resource Coordination:
  • Manage administrative tasks and increase the office's visibility across all campuses.
  • Expand evening and off-campus programming, including in locations like Leominster and offering late afternoon and night events on occasion.
  • Enhance online presence through wellness blogs and social media campaigns that promote mental health awareness.
  • Collaborate with Faculty and Staff:
  • Work collaboratively with program faculty and serve as a liaison with assigned high schools to identify and support areas of difficulty for students.
  • Communicate student needs and concerns to the Director, Coordinator, or Instructor as appropriate.
  • Attend all regularly scheduled staff meetings.
Other Duties as Assigned:
  • Manage referrals to the Senior Mental Health Counselor.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed to support the mission and goals of the organization.
  • Work with Human Resources to complete biennial review of Alcohol and Drug policies and educational / prevention programs.
  • Maintain required documentation for program grants.

  • Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Business Administration, Marketing, Education Administration, or other field related to area of assignment;
  • Three (3) years experience and/or training involving area of assignment, which may include business management, program/project management, grant administration, budget development, community relations, curriculum development, education, counseling, substance abuse, non-traditional student services, or public assistance programs; or
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master's degree in education/ higher-education, counseling, or a related field,
  • 10 years of experience working with community college students in an academic coaching capacity.

Applicants should be aware it is unlikely the salary will be at or near the top of the range.
