The Position: We are seeking a dynamic Senior Staff Accountant to work in the Corporate Accounting group. Reporting to the Senior Director, Corporate Accounting, this position will work independently, strive to resolve issues and complete tasks without supervision. Additionally, the Senior Staff Accountant will serve as a resource for technical accounting issues, including the interpretation and application of accounting principles, standards, and regulations. The role will involve developing and maintaining accounting policies and providing guidance to both internal stakeholders and external auditors. In addition, this individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Company's consolidated financial reports both for internal and external stakeholders. The Game Plan: (What you'll do)
  • Participate in the corporate accounting close such as preparing journal entries and supporting documentation for technical accounting areas (such as leases)
  • Assist with the lease accounting process under ASC 842, including preparing the lease schedules, reviewing, and documenting lease contracts.
  • Prepare monthly flux analysis which will be provided to management for review.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reconciliations in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the prepare of the monthly reporting financial statement packages management including monthly cash flow.
  • Active role in implementing process improvements and internal controls testing to ensure compliance with Company policy and SOX.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests.
  • Maintain, update, and enforce accounting policies (and supporting documentation) with all business units.
  • Assist in gathering information from individual business units to include in the Annual and Quarterly Reports
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and footnote disclosures, for the Company's quarterly and annual reports.
  • Drive process improvements and efficiencies for areas of responsibility.
  • Assist in any accounting-related system implementations as needed.
  • Participate in special projects, analysis, and reporting as required by management.
The Stats: (What to bring)
  • 2+ years accounting experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting required.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and SOX required.
  • Meticulous while maintaining efficiency.
  • Able to work under time pressure, prioritize a high workload, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Self-starter and team player with a positive attitude and open mindset, not afraid to roll up your sleeves and work in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to multi-task with diligence, accuracy and excellent follow up.
  • Ability to work independently following prescribed schedules and be resourceful.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, and the aptitude to communicate with all levels of management.
The base salary compensation range for this role is $80,000 to $95,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
