Company Overview:

My Client is a leading construction firm specializing in high-rise and multi-family, mixed-use buildings. With a strong portfolio of successful projects, including the completion of high-rise developments and ongoing multi-family residential projects in New York and Jersey City, my client is expanding their team. They are seeking an experienced Structural PE to manage their growing structural engineering efforts and lead their structural team based overseas from their NY office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead structural design for new construction projects, including high-rise and low-rise multi-family buildings in Jersey City and surrounding areas.
  • Manage a team in Cairo, Egypt (60% architecture, 40% engineering), ensuring effective collaboration and alignment with project goals.
  • Provide structural design expertise in steel, concrete, and wood, ensuring all designs meet safety standards and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with architects and other design professionals to develop innovative designs, balancing aesthetic vision with structural integrity.
  • Oversee project management, ensuring timely completion, quality control, and adherence to budget.
  • Develop structural calculations, reports, and drawings to support the construction process.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and project stakeholders, addressing technical concerns and offering support.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance in both technical and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with 8+ years of experience in structural engineering.
  • Proficiency in structural design for steel, concrete, and wood.
  • Experience with high-rise construction is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work closely with architects to ensure structural solutions align with design intentions.
  • In-depth knowledge of local building codes, safety standards, and regulations in New Jersey and New York.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • 5 days in the office required
