Roles:o As a Senior Substation Engineer, you will lead projects utilizing a team of substation engineers and designers to provide design services for our utility clients. Responsibilities:o Lead substation projects with a team of designers and drafterso Prepare substation design packages including physical design (plan and section views, grounding details and layouts, control building layouts, lightning protection, conduit plans, and associated bills of materials)o Prepare substation design packages including protection and control design (one lines, three lines, AC schematics, DC schematics, SCADA systems, and equipment and panel wiring)o Perform calculations and studies as requiredo Prepare Equipment specificationso Coordinate design activities with civil/structural teamso Verify projects are following all applicable client standardso Perform QA/QC on design packageso Perform site visits when necessaryo Interface with client's engineering groups and project management team to provide regular and timely updateso Lead and mentor junior team memberso Assist with the preparation of proposalso Consult on internal projects when requested by the PM, Portfolio Manager, or Executive Vice Presidento Provide technical assistance to the Welty Project Management Team when requestedo Support business development and marketing when requested Expectations:o Adherence to Welty Core Values, OPTIC (Openness, Passion, Teamwork, Integrity, Customer Centricity)o Share knowledge and train oncoming Project Engineerso Establish trust and healthy rapport with client and contract engineer firmso Collaborate with Management Team to foster a productive and encouraging environment Education/Experience:o Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering at an ABET accredited universityo 8+ years of experience as a Substation Engineero PE license strongly preferred Travelo 10-15% travel (project specific)
