WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Sr. Superintendent / Inspector - Construction with a Mechanical Background emphasis for our Albany, NY Client's Field Office. Be involved in projects with our PMCM Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

+ Provide assistance to New York State Office of General Services (OGS) Project Manager as directed

+ Overall contract compliance via daily inspections

+ Completion of Daily Field reports which tract weather, contractor activities, sub-contractors, visitors, field directives, and manpower.

+ Review contractor As-Builts monthly to ensure they are updated

+ Conduct and document per D&C Procedures onsite QA/QC activities through use of: 1st Delivery

+ Inspections, Closure Inspections, Mock-Up Inspections, and Acceptance Testing

+ Prepare and coordinate Pre-Activity meetings prior to significant scopes of work.

+ Perform a detailed comparison of the contract drawings, specifications, and approved product submittals to ensure conformance with the contract.

+ Develop and communicate a project work plan.

+ Perform a detailed comparison of the design drawings against each other to ensure coordination between each of the various project trades.

+ Monitor workforce and performance against the work plan

+ Monitoring of sub-contractor & supplier usage to ensure pre-approval before work starts

+ Assist the contractor(s) with the coordination of activities on the construction site with the other trades and the facility

+ Coordinate facility training

+ Ensure OSHA 10 cards are on file for each worker

+ Ensure compliance with generally accepted standards of workmanship

+ Offer recommendations to improve constructability

+ Complete punchlists and track completion

+ Coordination and scheduling with 3rd party specialty inspections (ie: asbestos abatement monitoring or steel inspection)

+ Perform additional duties as deemed necessary

+ Travel throughout the region may be required, a reliable vehicle will be necessary with valid driver's license and be able to work autonomously.

Who You Are

**Required Qualifications**

+ A minimum of 5 years of the experience shall be in the role of superintendent or inspector responsible for large scale projects, multi-contract building projects, valued above $5 million with an extensive knowledge of all facets of construction and construction documents.

+ Must have a proficient level of knowledge relative to all aspects of construction supervision.

+ Must be able to manage the various projects using established controls and procedures and provide job site leadership in all areas of scheduling, safety, quality, coordination with the designers and any critical issues pertinent to the project or the client / facility.

+ OSHA 30 Certification Required

+ Strong Mechanical Engineering background with experience of inspection requirements for various trades

+ Have a full working knowledge of the change order and cost review process and the review / approval of contractor's payment application.

+ Proficient in basic computer skills utilizing Windows / Outlook / Word / Excel and scheduling applications

+ Understanding of construction scheduling utilizing Primavera P6

+ Strong interpersonal skills

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills

+ Valid driver's license - Occasional travel within the region will be required.

+ Must be available to work alternate work hours on as needed basis.

+ Proven ability to adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

+ This hire will be contingent upon client selection and successful background check.

+ This position is subject to and contingent upon client approval of candidates put forth for consideration by WSP.

+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

+ This role is subject to a client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy. As such, employee may be subject to random drug/alcohol tests. A copy of the client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy will be provided during employee onboarding and is available upon applicant request.

+ Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Mechanical project background is preferred

+ Knowledge of NYS Building Code

+ OSHA 30 Hour certified required

+ Experience with Submittal Exchange, Bluebeam and Primavera P6 preferred.

+ Experience with Institutional / Agency Construction preferred?

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $85,900 - $175,200

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
