We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Superintendent to lead and oversee the successful execution of large-scale construction projects. The Senior Superintendent will be responsible for managing day-to-day field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget, while maintaining the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of construction processes.
Description
- Site Leadership & Supervision: Lead, manage, and coordinate all on-site activities, including subcontractors, laborers, and vendors. Ensure effective communication across all parties and resolve conflicts quickly.
- Project Execution: Oversee the daily construction operations, ensuring that all work is performed according to the plans, specifications, and safety standards. Maintain a focus on quality control and compliance with all codes and regulations.
- Safety Management: Implement and enforce safety policies to ensure a safe work environment. Conduct regular site safety meetings, inspections, and maintain proper safety documentation.
- Scheduling & Coordination: Develop and manage detailed project schedules, coordinating work activities and resource allocation to ensure the project stays on track. Monitor progress and adjust plans as needed to address delays or challenges.
- Budget Oversight: Collaborate with the project management team to track project expenses and ensure work is completed within the allocated budget. Report any budget discrepancies and work on solutions to prevent cost overruns.
- Quality Control: Ensure that construction work meets all quality standards and project specifications. Conduct regular inspections to monitor the quality of workmanship and materials.
- Client & Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders on-site. Provide regular updates on project progress and address any concerns or issues.
- Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Identify and address potential construction issues, delays, or obstacles. Proactively resolve issues to avoid disruptions to project timelines.
- Training & Mentorship: Provide leadership and guidance to junior superintendents and field staff. Promote continuous improvement through training, mentorship, and performance feedback.
Profile
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 7-10 years of experience in construction, with at least 5 years in a superintendent or leadership role, preferably on large commercial or industrial projects.
- Certifications: OSHA 30-hour certification, First Aid/CPR, and other relevant certifications (e.g., LEED, PMP) are a plus.
- Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of construction processes, materials, and methods.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend) and MS Office Suite.
- In-depth understanding of safety regulations and quality control standards.
