Overview:
Responsible for the deployments and maintenance of multiple major enterprise systems. Plans for and responds to major service outages and other system related issues.
Responsibilities:
Escalation resource for System Administration team issues. Possess advanced knowledge of multiple systems, and develop capabilities on non-primary systems. Provide technical advice and counsel to management and to less experienced IT personnel. Facilitate teams that may include peer-level professionals, specialized technicians, managers, contractors, consultants and/or customers Provide mentoring / coaching / technical advice to less experienced System Administration personnel. Perform advanced level system maintenance, monitoring, and problem determination. Verify the integrity and availability of resources, systems, and key processes. Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning. Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted business / IT units. Research and recommend innovative and, where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale. Develop advanced technical support documentation. Configure system upgrades as necessary. Provide evening and weekend System Administration support as needed. (Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)
Education
- Bachelors degree in a field of study which includes courses in computer programming, systems analysis, system development, or systems engineering is required
- A four-year degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Computer Engineering preferred
Experience
- 7 years of applicable experience in a technology environment, to include:
- 3 years of experience in a System Administration role
- Experience with Windows, LDAP, Exchange, Linux, Virtualization, or Storage Management is preferred.
