Overview

The Senior System Engineer is responsible for the design, installation, administration, and optimization of the company's server infrastructure, Active Directory environment, and networked storage systems. This role will play a pivotal part in managing the company's Azure Cloud environment, focusing on Azure Applications, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and developing Azure solutions for 1000+ clients using the Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platform. The Senior System Engineer ensures high performance, security, and reliability of the business applications supported by both on-premises and cloud environments.

Responsibilities
  • Configure, administer, and maintain all aspects of Active Directory and Azure AD.
  • Create, update, and manage system documentation, including standard operating procedures, system inventories, and configuration baselines. Ensure all documentation is up to date and in compliance with industry standards.
  • Assist in the review, development, and enforcement of IT policies and procedures.
  • Assist with backup and recovery operations, as well as business continuity (B/C) and disaster recovery (D/R) plan enhancement, maintenance, and testing.
  • Perform regular audits of cloud infrastructure to ensure 100% compliance with internal policies and industry regulations.
  • Establish and maintain a secure, well-managed enterprise environment in Azure, with a focus on applications, MFA, and secure infrastructure design.
  • Work closely with IT security and network teams to ensure seamless integration and secure operation of all systems.
Qualifications

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server technologies and services, including DNS, DHCP, WSUS, ADDS, ADFS, and DFS. Knowledge of SCCM & SCOM is a plus.
  • Expertise in Active Directory and Group Policy in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong experience with hybrid infrastructure.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft server technologies, including Exchange, SharePoint, and SQL.
  • Proficient in Identity Access Management/RBAC and various access controls.
  • Strong experience with Office 365, Azure AD, and AAD Connect.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
  • Experience with server virtualization technologies like Hyper-V and VMware.

  • Extremely detail-oriented with the ability to meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize workloads and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work well with customers, vendors, and management.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
  • Understanding of ITIL processes and principles.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree OR Relevant experience.
  • Relevant Microsoft OS and Azure Certification preferred.
