The Opportunity We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Firm. Within this position, you will be responsible for day-to-day operations and maintenance of the Firm's information system including researching/evaluating new products and implementing software that supports the Firm's business objectives. This position will be based in our White Plains and has a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule. Please note that the Firm will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position. As the Senior Systems Engineer you will:

  • Participate in large, complex projects involving the orchestration of tasks and/or implementation of various technologies.
  • Resolve complex technical issues and conduct advanced-level research.
  • Maintain a familiarity of industry concepts, best practices, and procedures.
  • Develop technical documentation and participate in the establishment of security policies, procedures, and standards designed to align IT and firm business objectives.
  • Coordinate activities associated with the installation of operation-level services.
  • Provide strong hands-on trouble-shooting and installation skills.
  • Provide expert judgment and analysis for the design, development, and implementation of technical products and systems.
  • Recommend alternatives to development and design in order to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
  • Provide technical 24/7 third-level support.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others.
  • Manage Firm resources responsibly.
  • Comply with and understand the Firm operational policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of relevant Firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems
  • Working knowledge of server based operating systems and communications protocols
  • Knowledge of administrative best practices and methodologies
  • Hands-on experience working with Microsoft Windows servers running IIS, DNS, and DHCP
  • Proficient in server virtualization using VMware ESX and knowledge of storage virtualization
  • Closely familiar with networking protocols including routing, switching, and TCP/IP
  • PowerShell scripting and/or a comparative scripting language
  • Microsoft Windows Active Directory design, implementation, and support
  • Microsoft Clustering Services
  • Hands-on experience with MS servers working with Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS)
  • Working experience with modern authentication protocols and implementations such as SAML, OAuth, OpenID, and MFA
  • Experience with industry-leading container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience in deploying, managing, and migrating to industry-leading cloud platforms like Azure and AWS, employing both SaaS and IaaS solutions
  • Experience with Citrix desktop virtualization
  • Experience with multi-platform computing preferred (e.g. Unix, Linux)
  • Foundational understanding of network concepts such as LACP, VLANs, QOS, and VPNs
  • Knowledge of Cisco routers, UNIX, Network Management, and diagnostic tools preferred
  • Knowledge of Exchange 2016 or later, and SQL 2012 or later
  • Experience with working in a multi-time zone Data Center environment
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team
  • Ability to use discretion and exercise independent and sound judgment
  • Flexibility to travel
  • Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs
Education and Experience
  • Associate's degree or related job experience
  • Minimum of ten years' experience utilizing the above mentioned technologies

Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other-job related factors, consistent with applicable law.
