Job SummaryBetter Being is looking for a Liquids Bottling Line Lead to operate and lead production operations. This includes management of small teams (up to eight employees) and the continuous operation of an average of 3-5 separate pieces of production equipment. Production operations are fast-paced and require a keen attention to detail. The pay for this role is $20+/hr depending on experience. The work schedule is Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 4:30pm.
Essential Functions- Oversees and leads team whose function includes, feeding product onto conveyors, loading hoppers, and preparing filled bottles for packing and shipping.
- Replenish packaging supplies such as bottles, lids, boxes, shrink-wrap or labels.
- Set up and changeover machines with correct lids, bottles, labels and product.
- Preparation of appropriate paperwork for production runs. Must be able to record data into multiple in-house production software sources.
- Operation of machinery with the ability and knowledge to make minor adjustments or repairs.
- Inspection of materials, products, and containers at each step of packaging process. Inspects filled container to ensure that product is packaged according to specifications.
- Records information, such as batch code, time, and date packaged. Responsible for correct counting of raw materials and finished goods, accurate label placement, batch codes and lids for each bottle. Must work from technical data sources to ensure quality production runs.
- Moves throughout line to ensure accuracy, verify quality, and manage team members.
- Collaboration with team members to solve problems and identify root causes.
- Assists supervisor in additional duties as necessary.
Additional Responsibilities- Must contribute to department team goals. Team goals are based on productivity, in both quantity and quality of work and the accuracy to which the job and/or process is completed. Each team member is dependent upon the contribution level of his/her co-worker.
- As part of the production team, each employee is required to cross-train and demonstrate competency in all essential job functions of the Liquids department.
- May also keep records of the number of items or cartons shipped from the warehouse.
- Support of and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs and activities.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Job Qualifications- High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
- Twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. General mechanical experience and/or knowledge preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Requirements- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and talk or hear.
- The employee must exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, accommodation, color vision, and field of vision
