We're seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager or Director to lead our team and provide exceptional tax planning services to high-net-worth individuals.

Our client is located in the NW New York state area close to the Buffalo/Niagara Falls area. Our client is open to candidates in the local area, candidates open to relocating to the area, or for the right person, this could be a 100% remote role.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive tax planning strategies: Utilize your expertise to design tailored plans that align with clients' unique financial goals and objectives.
  • Leverage trust instruments: Explore and recommend various trust structures to optimize wealth transfer and minimize tax liabilities.
  • Navigate complex tax returns: Oversee the preparation of personal, fiduciary, estate, and gift tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct in-depth tax research: Identify and resolve complex tax issues through meticulous research and analysis.
  • Build strong client relationships: Cultivate lasting connections with clients, providing personalized advice and exceptional service.

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience: Minimum 10+ years of experience in tax planning, preferably within a CPA firm, advisory/consulting firm, wealth management firm, or law firm.
  • Deep understanding of tax planning: Extensive knowledge of the US tax code and its applications in achieving client goals.
  • Strong technical skills: Proficiency in reviewing personal, fiduciary, estate, and gift tax returns.
  • Excellent communication skills: Ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and effectively to clients and team members.
  • Leadership qualities: Proven ability to lead and mentor a team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • CPA, JD, or EA: Professional certification is required.
