TJT is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to help our Trust, Estate & Gift practice. As a TEG Senior Tax Manager, you will focus on tax review and oversee all aspects of trust and gift tax planning and compliance. You will provide expert tax advice to high-net-worth clients to optimize their tax positions and ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations. Additionally, you will participate in leading a team of TJT tax professionals and developing intentional relationships with clients. This position offers flexibility in terms of office location, as TJT has offices available in the following locations: Raleigh, Durham, Wilmington, Emerald Isle, and Boone NC. Essential Functions:
- Review complex trust, estate, and gift tax returns
- Research and consult on various estate, gift and trust related issues, such as trustee and beneficiary issues,generation skipping tax issues and wealth transfer planning
- Run client engagements from start to finish, including planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects on time, within budget, and up to management standards
- Build impactful relationships with new and existing clients and maintain relationships with firm leadership
- Develop a working knowledge of the client's business, take responsibility for completing assigned tasks, and meet client deadlines
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards, and proactively apply new knowledge to client engagements
- Collaborate with other tax professionals within the firm to coordinate efforts, share knowledge, and ensure efficient and effective delivery of tax services
- Provide timely and high-quality services and work products that exceed client expectations
- Build on technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and technical authorities and apply them to moderately complex situations Professional Requisites:
- 6+ years of progressivetax experience with trusts and estates, as well as high net worth clients
- Technical expertise complex gift, estate, and fiduciary income tax returns
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; Master's degree in accounting preferred
- Current CPA certification preferred
- Previous work experience in the public accounting industry is required
- Strong tax research skills
