It's an exciting time to become a part of IFF! We are currently looking for a Senior Team Lead at our Flavors plant in Dayton, NJ. The Senior Team Lead is responsible for direct reports and the daily operations in process-based departments Spray Dry, Powders, Reaction, Extrusion, Pre-Weigh/Repack, and Vanilla. 2nd Shift (3:30pm-11:50pm)

Job Description

Job responsibilities include:

  • Optimize the people, process and tools to ensure output in your area meets or exceeds demand.
  • Identify and correct issues which reduce output and provide recommendations to your supervisor for continuous improvements.
  • Predict future obstacles and make corrections to ensure that output targets are always met.
  • Develop and motivate the individuals on your team to ensure that individual goals are met and aligned with the goals of the group.
  • Prepare and provide performance evaluations, counseling records, and communications/safety meetings to your direct reports.
  • Manage work schedule, overtime, vacation and PTO hours of direct reports.
  • Work with other members of the leadership team to meet or exceed plant goals and key performance indicators.
  • Provide rapid responses and solutions to escalated issues and urgent customer demands.

Job Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Customer focused with effective problem solving ability
  • Good teamwork
  • Ability to deliver presentations in a small group setting
  • Read, collect, and analyze analytical data from the process-based areas to help make process flow decisions. Utilize analytical lab equipment such as particle size analyzer, pH meter, densitometer, etc.
  • Upon completion of batches, ensures timely backflushing of materials to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Operates electric and/or gas sit down and electric reach trucks as required.
  • Individual must have good working knowledge of GMP's, HACCP, SAP, Excel, inventory control and maintain highest levels of sanitation in and around their work area.
  • Push/pull 400 pound drums and lift 100 pound bags as required.
  • Compare information on ZFIS to ensure proper packaging and amount of material against customer orders.

Required Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a Food or Chemical manufacturing plant.
  • Familiar with OSHA requirements.
  • Experience in a process manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Experience in continuous improvement projects.
  • Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Good computer and mobile device skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Experience in a process manufacturing environment.
  • Worked and handled Food Type products.
  • Mechanical knowledge.
