Job DescriptionA fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Technical Scrum Master dedicated to support products & solutions within our Digital Services portfolio.You will be responsible for supporting the Product Owner in the delivery of value, by identifying and removing obstacles for the product team and designing and/or improving processes.The Scrum Master is responsible for optimizing the agile methodology to account for specific aspects of digital services work (e.g. external dependencies on vendors and other company teams) and focuses on empowering the product team and coaching team members towards an agile mindset.Bring energy, knowledge, innovation to carry out the following:Ensure that the development team or squad is fully functional and productiveFacilitate the team's / squad daily work and all Scrum eventsCollect metrics on the team / squad and Sprint to help the team improveRemove the obstacles or impediments faced by the team/squad in its workCoach the team / squad members in self-organization and cross-functional behaviourHelp the team / squad members achieve optimum productivityFacilitate backlog refinement sessions preparing for future SprintsHelp Product Owner protect the team / squad from outside interruptionsWorking with other Scrum Masters to increase effectiveness of the application of Scrum in the organizationTake ownership for all the team /squad's agile practices and meeting facilitation of agile ceremoniesCoaching team members in self-management and sense of ownershipEnsure that the team / squad follows their process and pursues continuous innovation in their practicesTakes ownership and responsibility for the continuous improvement of team processes, empowering the team towards optimized delivery, knowledge management and information sharingHelping the Scrum team / squad and Product Owner to build clear and concise Product BacklogClose collaboration with the Product Owner to make sure that the work is broken down and understandable for the development team / squadTake ownership for managing and monitoring external dependencies to the team/ squad's workBuild channels for continuous communication and feedback look from/to stakeholders and managementBe responsible for the wellbeing and sense of safety within the team (make it fun!)What skills you will need:Bachelor's degree in engineering, bioscience, finance, or related field and 5+ years managing Improvement or IT implementation projects and other direct reports.Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) – desirableAgile Scrum Master Certification (ACP) or equivalent – desirableExperience working in Scrum, Kanban or other Agile framework and good understanding of underlying principlesHave a deep understanding of JIRA and Confluence and being able to propose customizations and improvements in both toolsetsHave experience with Process Mining tools, e.g. Celonis, and or similar technologiesHave excellent communication skills, including the ability to ask right questions and get into the core of a topic or a taskKnow how to support meeting participants during divergent thinking, integration, convergent thinkingCan think critically and tailor agile practices and processes for the need of the team and the specificities of the process mining domainCurrent Employees apply HERECurrent Contingent Workers apply HERESearch Firm Representatives Please Read Carefully Merck & Co., Inc., Rahway, NJ, USA, also known as Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC, Rahway, NJ, USA, does not accept unsolicited assistance from search firms for employment opportunities.
