What You Will Do Stensul is building the future of content creation, and we can only get there by understanding the complex workflows, contexts, and behaviors of marketing content creators. This first-of-its-kind role in our Product and Design organization will work with Product and Design leadership to establish a research practice for our category-defining platform. We're looking for an experienced UX Research professional to join and help define our practice. They will be an immaculate communicator, dedicated to the craft of research, have an exceptional quality bar, be insatiably curious about solving real problems in a long underserved space, and be committed to continuous growth both professionally and organizationally. This person would need to be comfortable working hand-in-hand daily with Product triads of PMs, Designers, and Engineers, as well as speaking to C-level partners. They will be a self-starter, able to negotiate a startup environment that may be unfamiliar with some common patterns and practices, and able to self-advocate and show the path forward. This is an in-person role in our NYC office located in Midtown Manhattan. Responsibilities
- Establish Research as a practice in Stensul, while acting as a domain expert
- Advocate passionately for the users and potential users of our platform
- Proactively identify research projects with Product and Business partners
- Plan and execute end-to-end research plans, consisting of appropriate methods
- Distill research findings into high-quality, actionable insights and reports
- Inform the Product and Design strategy of the Stensul platform via compelling, actionable research findings
- Work independently in a dynamic environment, managing both scrappy day-to-day research and more rigorous, long-term foundational research efforts
- Management and curation of the Stensul research repository
- Occasional travel to client sites and industry events to interact with people who use our platform
Minimum Qualifications Applicants do not need a formal portfolio, however examples of previous work must be supplied for consideration.
- Previous experience in a User Experience, Product Design, or Applied Research setting, using relevant qualitative user research methods
- Previous experience with quantitative research methods, including surveying, modeling, and statistical analysis
- Experience coding with SPSS, R, SQL, or equivalent and experience connecting to existing data sources.
- Experience applying statistical analysis methods such as Regressions, ANOVA, and T-Tests
- Experience creating compelling strategic narratives from research findings
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience on UX research teams that have scaled in a start-up environment
- Experience coaching Product and Business partners on Research best practices
- An advanced degree in Human Factors, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, HCI, or a related field.

Please note that Stensul's compensation philosophy is based on a geographical market approach, and the salary range listed relates specifically to roles located in New York.
