Our Systems Engineering team works together to blend software and hardware systems in groundbreaking new ways. We set the standards that ensure our vehicles run smoothly and keep passengers safe, then design and perform the tests that validate that performance. We're looking for teammates who'll help us maintain collaborative teamwork and are passionate about growing in their career. In this hybrid role, you will report to a Systems Engineering Manager You will:

  • Develop strategy for Verification and Validation of Vehicle Systems for our autonomous vehicle platforms. This includes, among other domains, Power Systems, Thermal Management, User Experience, Networks, Body Controls, Cyber-security.
  • Plan and schedule V&V campaigns based on the scope of Requirements.
  • Provide technical training to other Test Engineers to grow the team's collaborative ability. For example: use of test equipment, analysis tools, test methodologies, or scripting languages.
  • Lead the qualification of new Waymo driver SW releases for the Vehicle Test Engineering team.
You have:
  • 3+ years experience in Project management. Excited about understanding the scope of work, available resources and timeline, and translate it into schedules. Being able to make and communicate trade-offs between program conflicts.
  • Collaborated with your Team and Partners. Managing multiple tests activities in parallel.
  • 3+ years experience in Test planning and experimental design, especially designing for safety and repeatability.
  • 3 + years experience in data analysis and test scripting/automation experience (C/C++, Python, Matlab/Simulink).
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in a relevant engineering or a related field (including ME, EE, CS, Robotics, Controls, Aerospace) or equivalent practical experience.
We Prefer:
  • Electro-mechanical systems: develop, and troubleshoot systems that combine HW, electrical systems, communications, and software.
  • Understanding of autonomous driving vehicles, infrastructure, and operations.
  • Understanding of systems engineering principles such as defining requirements and formal verification and validation
#LI-Hybrid The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the role location or, if the role can be performed remote, the specific salary range for your preferred location, during the hiring process. Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo's discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements. Salary Range $183,000 - $232,000 USD
