Senior Vice President & Chief Financial/Administrative Officer OSU System

Oklahoma State University (OSU) seeks a Senior Vice President & Chief Financial/Administrative Officer (CFAO) to join the Senior Leadership team with responsibility for the overall financial strategy of the System. Working at the highest executive level of the organization, the CFAO will serve as the OSU System's lead financial officer, responsible for all budgeting, finance, facilities, human resources, and other duties, as assigned. As a critical team member of the System's executive leadership and reporting directly to the president of the OSU System, the CFAO will review and implement a transparent budget process for the OSU System, working in close collaboration with executive team partners, deans and other academic and administrative leaders; improve processes and procedures across the finance and administrative units; and further refine and strengthen the System's controls environment. The Senior Vice President and CFAO will join the university at a time of significant momentum as we continue to progress under our strategic plan to become the nation's preeminent Land-Grant university.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The CFAO will provide strategic executive leadership that includes operational responsibility across five primary units including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Finance: Budget, University accounting/controller; bursar; financial information systems; Grants & Contract Administration (GCFA); procurement; tax & compliance; finance operational risk, compliance and efficiency
  • Facilities: Business/hospitality services; facilities management; long-range planning; risk & property management; university planning; operations of Lake Carl Blackwell
  • Safety/Transportation: Environmental health & safety; parking and transportation; OSU police
  • Human Resources: HR consulting services; OSU benefits; Equal Opportunity/Title IX compliance; talent development and recruitment; human resources information management; payroll services
  • Information Technology: System-wide integrated information technology services

As the senior executive responsible for System financial well-being, the CFAO will relate to certain committees of the OSU A&M Board of Regents and will, from time to time, provide reports, analyses and operational expertise related to the operations thereto.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree, or other advanced degree, from an accredited institution;
  • 10+ years of progressive experience, including executive leadership roles in financial and administrative positions in significant business, education or not-for-profit organization(s);
  • Proven deep understanding of business strategy and operational impact;
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills;
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving, research and analytical skills;
  • Exceptional capability in leading a matrixed team of subject-matter experts.
