Job Description:

The Sr. Vice President of Finance monitors the financial condition of the company and oversees the financial administration of the company. The Sr. Vice President of Finance is responsible for managing liquidity risk, supervising cash management activities, directing the budget, coordinating debt and lines of credit, managing foreign investments, overseeing investment of excess funds, managing and limitingrisks, assisting in raising capital to support expansion, and ensuring capital is deployed to the highest and best use given the company's risk profile. Ownership of company-wide budget and forecast model. Coordinate annual property level budget process and monthly forecast process.

BIG PICTURE:

The Senior Corporate Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing daily property transactions, reviewing and analyzing all financial information and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Further, the Senior Corporate Accountant leads and supports the accounting team to ensure all weekly and monthly deadlines are met. This position will also oversee reconciling accounts to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance to include, receivables, payables, cash, accruals and prepaids. Further, the Senior Corporate Accountant will work closely with property leadership on accounting processes and procedures, including PMS, POS, credit card and cash handling.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Adhere to the policies outlined in the Avantic Lodging Enterprises Supporter Handbook. Maintain a professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication with general managers, property accountants, controllers, and other departments. Maintain a system of policies and procedures that impose an adequate level of control and compliance over payroll, accounting and treasury activities Work with the court-appointed Chief Restructuring Officer to finalize and exit bankruptcy Oversee the audit and tax functions conducted by third-party providers Review and approve corporate financial statements and management reports Establish and implement benchmarks against which to measure the financial and operating performance of the company and departments Oversee financial planning, procurement, and investment of funds for the company Manage receipt, disbursement, banking, protection and custody of funds, securities, and financial instruments Ensure that sufficient liquid funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements Forecast cash flow positions, related borrowing needs, and available funds for investment Identify and implement hedges to mitigate foreign exchange, interest rate and other risks to the company Monitor and advise company management on investment opportunities and performance of invested funds Prepare financial reports and analysis of the company's current and forecast cash position and associated risks Coordinate with other corporate functions on current and forecast cash needs Coordinate with the Accounting department on account collections, allowances for bad debt and credit issues Develop policies and procedures to govern the collection of aged receivables Develop policies and procedures to govern corporate and property level credit extensions Maintain banking relationships with the company's creditors and arranges for equity and debt financing Monitor debt covenants and reports to lenders as required by the terms and conditions of the debt instrument Oversee servicing of debt as required by the terms and conditions of the debt instrument Monitor the activities of third parties handling outsourced treasury functions on behalf of the company Advise management on the liquidity aspects of its short- and long-range planning Ensure that sufficient liquid funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements Weekly monitoring of cash position for all properties Communicate cash position and forecasted cash needs with owner groups Administer the annual budgeting and forecasting process and review and approve budgets

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, plus a minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible treasury and finance or accounting experience MBA in accounting/finance and CPA preferred Strong GAAP accounting and financial system knowledge Experience in managing audit and tax with third-party provider Financial budgeting and modeling experience Strong ability to write and/or review financial statements and footnotes Strong understanding of the banking system, lending, and investment management Understanding of derivatives, investments, and bank account management Strong leadership and managerial skills Credibility, full disclosure and clean financial history Conscientious about assignments and quality of work product Accountable for specific performance Ability to communicate and interact at all levels (upper management and staff) Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner Able to handle multiple tasks and maintain control and order over same Detail oriented with a strong work ethic Strong critical thinking/analytical ability
