Our client, one of the premier mutual insurance companies in the Northeast, has retained The Carlisle Group seeking to hire a talented Senior Vice President of Regional Operations. This role, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), is a key stakeholder on the senior management team. The client is seeking a talented executive with a broad depth of knowledge in agency relations, strong emotional intelligence, a demonstrated history of growing a business profitably, and a desire to work with a very collaborative team leadership team.

The Senior Vice President of Regional Operations provides strategic and tactical leadership for the companies Regional Office operations to include Commercial & Personal Underwriting, Sales, Marketing, Loss Control, Premium Audit and National Agent Distribution. In addition, directs and manages the Corporate Services & Support Center, Corporate Sales and Marketing operations to achieve annual operating, customer service, marketing and financial goals.

Develops and implements current and long-range department objectives, plans and policies to ensure adequate profit, growth, customer service, sales and marketing strategies.

Responsible for the oversight of the assigned Regional and Corporate operational teams including providing training, coaching and development for all colleagues.

  • Develop, implement, monitor and achieve strategic objectives, policies and operating action plans for the regional offices, Corporate Services & Support Center, and Sales and Marketing operations.
  • Achieve or exceed regional loss ratio goals as stated in the corporate plans through effective agency management, risk selection, pricing and overall book (Line of Business/Geographic) management.
  • Achieve the corporate premium production plans as stated in the annual operating plan.
  • Develop, recommend, and execute strategic Agent Distribution, sales and marketing, and regional operational initiatives on how to optimize near-term growth and profit. Provides support to the President and CEO on an as needed basis.
  • Manages the strategic and tactical development of the Personal and Commercial Lines Underwriting policy transactional support with Underwriting UA Support for the Regional Offices and the Support Center with the purpose of achieving corporate service standards, improving efficiencies and Image Right workflows, and consolidating WINS and ImageRight processing for both PL and CL underwriting within a central location in the corporate office, to improve the overall efficiencies and productivity at both the region and corporate levels.
  • Manage all staff reporting to position. Improve performance of subordinates sharing knowledge and expertise. Develop and implement short- and long-term succession plans. Encourage maximum performance and self-development.

Education:

4-year bachelor s degree or equivalent work experience or advanced degree. CPCU or other insurance related coursework required.

Experience:

15+ year s insurance experience and 10+ years P&C insurance experience. Prior Executive level Independent Agent Distribution, Sales, Customer Service Operational Acumen, and management experience required.

Knowledge/Skills:

Proven experience building and managing high performing teams. Prior Commercial Underwriting experience.

High level of insurance technical knowledge, excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills. Strong communication and organizational skills are required. Computer literate. Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to meet with agents, regional staff, conduct meetings, and develop customer relationships.
