We are looking for an exceptional, passionate, proactive and business-savvy Senior In-House Legal Counsel to join our team in New York. In this role, you will support our business and all aspects of our commercial activity as well as various corporate matters. - Oversee the legal work for North America for different business units in the group.
- Provide strategic analysis and implementation for North America while ensuring the organization's policies and regulations are followed.
- Drive, draft and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including master services, licensing, professional services, marketing, SaaS, and vendor agreements.
- Understand and ensure company-wide compliance with privacy & data protection laws and self-regulatory organizations in the AdTech industry.
- Conduct legal research and partner with the executive team to assess any new initiatives.
- Provide practical, business-oriented, strategic legal advice and recommendations to cross functional teams on a broad range of commercial and regulation matters.
- Understand complex privacy & data protection law and apply those concepts to challenging business processes.
- Oversee different aspects of legal matters including but not limited to corporate, employment, real estate, M&A, benefits, insurance and litigation.
- Collaborate with various teams in the organization to deeply understand the company's products and practices and provide advice on best practices to ensure compliance with the applicable regulation.
- Establish and maintain business processes and internal policies aimed to scale the business and support corporate governance.
- Manage and facilitate relationships with outside counsels and work with other global team members in the global legal department.
Profile and Experience:
- A Juris Doctor from an accredited US law school and a license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction required
- A minimum of 7-10 years of experience practicing law in-house and/or at a law firm
- Experience in the AdTech/MarTech industry is required
- Experience with and a demonstrated knowledge in privacy and data protection laws and applicable self-regulatory organizations required
- Experience in working in a global a legal department and/or demonstrating strong leadership instincts.
- Solid knowledge of technology law and contract law and demonstrated success in an IP/technology licensing and commercial contract environment
- Knowledge of various regulatory, legal, and financial filings
- Pragmatic and business-focused, ability to resolve issues independently
- Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, both orally and in writing, internally to legal colleagues and business clients and externally to customers and business partners
- Enthusiastic leader who enjoys taking ownership of projects and building relationships with individuals across a variety of functional teams
- Excellent interpersonal skills which will enable him/her to interact with a range of personalities and styles and be able to establish effective relationships at all levels of the organization
