A professional services firm in New York City is currently seeking an experienced Tax professional to join their staff in Manhattan as their new Tax Senior / Manager / Sr. Manager. In this role, the Tax Senior / Manager / Sr, Manager will be responsible for providing tax compliance and consulting services to Investment Management clients. Responsibilities: The Tax Senior / Manager / Sr. Manager will:
- Perform tax planning
- Perform detail-level reviews of tax research, regulated investment company (RIC) tax work papers, financial statement provisions and related tax disclosures and Federal and relevant State returns, excise calculations, and RIC compliance tests
- Identify complex tax issues and provide tax analyses for a variety of entities and their affiliates
- Supervise tax consultants
- Attend required firm-wide and sector-specific training.
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience providing Tax Planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and income Tax Returns
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, and/or Taxation
- CPA or parts passed
- Basic understanding of Subchapter K, Financial Products, Wash Sale and Constructive Sale rules
- Familiarity with Aggregate Allocations
- Microsoft Excel proficient
- Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- Previous experience working for a Big 4
- Knowledge of Fund Accounting and General Ledger Accounting
