Primary Purpose of Job Provides server and administration support for daily operations. Follows procedures and guidelines to install, patch, configure, customize, troubleshoot, upgrade, integrate, and maintain systems, software, port configuration, host-based firewalls, and peripherals. Accountable for installing operating system updates, managing configuration changes, and performing system tuning. Analyzes and resolves system problems and ensures that the correct processes are followed in change management for tracking. Major Job Accountabilities Provides reports and capacity data to support metrics for hardware warranty, software licensing and asset management systems. Meets customer needs and exceeds performance metrics by resolving requests, supporting daily operations and ensuring system stability in an accurate and timely manner. Reviews and monitors systems for availability, error conditions, adequate space allocation, backup integrity, and performance to ensure system stability. Collaborates with teammates and software vendors on project efforts to achieve implementation plans and timelines. Maintains current on knowledge of IT policies and procedures, hardware, software and technical services. Effectively communicates any new knowledge to teammates. Contributes to research and evaluation of new enterprise technologies, processes and upgrades to the Windows infrastructure. Identifies inefficiencies or gaps in written procedures and/or processes, making recommendations for improvements. Develops new and/or modified procedure documentation, as requested. Provides general and routine technical support to a broad range of installing, patching, configuring, and updating Operating Systems and non-OS vendor applications. Maintains documented procedures for server infrastructure. Collaborates with all technical staff to develop, design, implement, and continuously improve systems. Frequently works long hours, as necessary to ensure availability of systems. Experience Required One (1) to five (5) years of experience in the following: Infrastructure technologies Cloud technologies Server/storage support IT customer support Required Skills or Training Possesses solid knowledge of server hardware and Microsoft server operating systems, along with Windows deployment tools. Possesses a thorough knowledge of Cloud technologies. Possesses analytical skills necessary to develop written procedures and/or processes. Possesses a thorough understanding of server/storage technology. Demonstrated understanding of data privacy and information security regulations. Able to prioritize multiple assignments and complete work within tight deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
