The Server Administrator is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and secure and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, storage systems and virtual environment. Secondary responsibilities include email support, data backup management, and security systems administration .

****Required Qualifications****

* Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, or work experience.

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2016, 2019, and Windows 10

* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory including Group Policy, PowerShell scripting, DHCP, DNS, DFS

* Working knowledge of VMware vCenter and ESXI environments

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange email system including user and shared mailboxes, distribution lists, and mailbox delegation

****Preferred Qualifications****

* Working knowledge of data center operations and typical computer operations procedures, desktop support, and customer service.

* Working knowledge of Cisco IP networks

* Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Cloud systems

* Knowledge of Citrix environments and deployment of servers as well as thin client desktops and laptops.

* Working knowledge of HPE Nimble Storage systems

* Working knowledge of HPE SimpliVity hyperconverged systems

* Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server environment

****Physical & Cognitive Demands****

The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position.

* Occasionally moves, positions, and transports equipment such as servers, computers, monitors, batteries up to 50lbs. Can be moved in/out of server racks, in between server rooms at the 3 campuses.

* This is largely a sedentary role. This position operates in an office environment and constantly uses a computer, and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc.

* The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

* Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.

* May be required to work out of any ACC campus location. Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required.

****Advertised Salary Range****

Starting salary for this position is $61,205 - $68,645 , commensurate with education and experience. provides information regarding salary placement and adjustments. This is a full-time, FLSA exempt position. This position has been exempted from the State Classified System.
