This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative, customer-focused environment that values shared learning and professional growth.As a Jr. Server Engineer, you will work on a team to provide critical backend support for water plant operation systems, Public Safety, and the City's major applications, ensuring the reliable operation of essential services. You will work closely with a variety of departments, contributing to the technology solutions that power our City's operations.What you'll be doing:
- Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of virtual servers within a Hyper-V environment under supervision.
- Support Active Directory management, including Domain Structures and Sites and Services, with guidance from senior team members.
- Perform basic server administration tasks such as applying updates, monitoring performance, and managing backups to maintain system reliability.
- Participate in cloud migration projects (AWS, Azure), assisting with planning and implementation tasks.
- Help identify opportunities to improve processes and simplify workflows to reduce support requests and improve efficiency.
- Contribute to testing and implementing technology solutions, focusing on enhancing usability and customer satisfaction.
- Learn and apply automation tools and techniques to streamline tasks and support modernization efforts.
- Act as a point of contact between vendor support and internal teams, ensuring effective communication and timely issue resolution.
