Summary/ObjectiveThe pastry cook is responsible for all pastry and baking activities for the restaurant. $22-$25/hrEssential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.1. Maintaining the highest level of execution and quality food, while following timelines.2. Preps, prepares, and executes all menu items to specification and follows directions of Executive Pastry Chef daily.3. Proper sanitation and safety guidelines must be followed, and all kitchen work and storage areas must be kept clean and organized at all times.4. The pastry cook must inspect all food products to maintain proper appearance, colors and appeal.5. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.Work EnvironmentThe work environment can be loud and busy. There are many kitchen hazards such as hot surfaces and liquids, sharp knives, and slippery floors.Physical DemandsThe employee is required to stand for long periods as well as walk, bend and stoop. The position requires working taste buds, ability to smell, feel with fingers and visually inspect, including close and distance vision. The position requires ability to use arms, hands and manipulate fingers to reach, stir, measure, pour, cut, chop, dice, decorate, etc. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis position regularly requires long hours, weekend work and holidays.Required Education and Experience1. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace2. Minimum of 3 years of pastry experience in high-volume food production or fine dining, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.3. Food Handlers card/ ServSafe certification4. Must have open availabilityPreferred Education and Experience1. Diploma/certification in a culinary discipline preferred2.
