The
Hilton Garden Inn Raleigh-Durham/RTP is currently hiring for
part-time Servers. We are hiring for morning shifts, 5:30am-11am and night shifts, 5:30pm-10:30pm. The persons hired for these positions must have weekday and weekend availability.
We are offering a $250 Sign-On Bonus*PRIMARY PURPOSE: To provide quality service to hotel restaurant customers by providing prompt and courteous food and beverage service
RESPONSIBILITIES- Meets and exceeds customer and team member expectations by providing service and teamwork
- Provides prompt, courteous service by bussing, serving, and setting tables
- Accurately records, pre-checks, and picks up all food and beverage orders
- Serves customers their food and beverage orders in prompt and courteous manner
- Sets tables as needed prior to customer arrival
- Contributes to customer satisfaction by attending to restaurant customer needs
- Acquires a working knowledge of hotel, in-house facilities, and local information to respond to customer questions in these areas as required
- Informs host/hostess or manager of any customer dissatisfaction
- Ensures that breakfast area/restaurant is in proper condition for arrival of customers
- Verifies workstations are stocked, neat and orderly
- Checks the overall condition of the dining room, insuring its readiness for customers
- Stocks breakfast bar items such as cereal, breads, muffins, etc. and other cold items and assist cook as needed in set up of hot dishes
- Processes customer restaurant bills promptly and accurately
- Sends all room charges immediately to Front Desk for posting
- Inquires in to the level of satisfaction experienced by the customer; attempts to rectify any complaints and/or refers them to the manager
- Issues customer bills in accordance with hotel's policies
REQUIREMENTS- At least 1 year of restaurant serving experience required
- Must be flexible in work hours to accommodate last minute changes in scheduling
- Must have strong interpersonal skills to engage and interact with associates and guests
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Displays working knowledge of cash register to ring up bills
- Ability to accurately handle cash, credit cards and checks.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers
JOB SETTING AND PHYSICAL DEMANDSEmployees in this position work primarily indoors. To perform the job successfully the candidate must be able to stand; walk; use hands to handle, grasp or type; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, bend or twist; talk or hear; and to push, pull or lift over 20 pounds. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Fluency in the English language and the ability to speak, hear, read and write are required as is the ability to work any hours/days of the week necessary to meet business requirements.
