POSITION SUMMARYThe incumbent in this position is responsible for serving food and beverages in accordance with company standards.GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES(The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this class and are not all inclusive for specific positions.)
- Recognize guests immediately with a friendly greeting and inform them of daily specials.
- Assist guests with food and beverages, demonstrating salesmanship with complete menu and product knowledge.
- Notify the Chef of any food products that are not properly prepared.
- Anticipate, identify, and provide for guest needs.
- Ensure guest satisfaction through food quality checks and responsiveness to guest complaints.
- Maintain a well-groomed neat and clean appearance, carrying out duties with attention to sanitation safety.
- Anticipate, identify, and provide for guest needs.
- Maintain company funds and equipment in an orderly manner.
- Review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
- Perform side work duties on daily basis and other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSMust have ability to:
- Transport trays and/or plates throughout the restaurant which may weigh up to 50 pounds, as well as serve food items and beverages.
- Take down orders, recite specials and point specific items out on the menu to guests.
- Stand throughout an eight-hour shift.
- Distinguish between different denominations of currency and make change.
- Retrieve supplies and maintain a clean working area.
- Effectively and efficiently move throughout the restaurant and the kitchen area.
- Communicate effectively with guests and team members alike.
- Work in an environment that has varying levels of smoke, crowds, and noise the severity of which depends upon guest volume.
JOB QUALIFICATIONSMust be 18 years of age.Familiarity with food, beverage, and wine service. Knowledge of table service procedures and table etiquette. These skills and abilities are typically acquired through two (2) years table service experience.REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIESIn addition to the other duties described herein, every team member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:
- Attend required training sessions offered by the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City.
- Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
- Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the team member's department.
- Consult Internal Control Procedures and Policy Manuals for guidance.
- Report illegal activity to Security or the appropriate levels of Management.
