General Summary:Essex Meadows is recruiting for hospitality focused servers to join our culinary team. This role provides full-scope, hands on serving functions within the community. Essential Job Duties:
- Assists in maintaining a high level of customer service for our residents and their guests.
- Have knowledge of all current offerings and specials.
- Properly carry and handle service trays in a safe and professional manner.
- Learn the department's steps of service throughout the meal period, answering questions, and making appropriate suggestions regarding food and beverages.
- Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of side stations and equipment, reporting any equipment problems immediately to the manager. Keep service items restocked as needed throughout the service period.
- Fulfill all assigned side work during and prior to the end of your shift.
- Assists with dish washing and distribution of clean dishes if needed.
- Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
- Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
- Experience waiting tables in a hotel, restaurant or club with fine dining preferred; will train.
- Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer, or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understands requests.
- Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, management and peers.
