And as a community, we work together to support our residents to discover what's possible and make a real difference in the lives of our residents.As The Birches Dining Room server, you are creating an experience in which our residents and their families can enjoy together and create lasting memories. The primary purpose of this job is to prepare the main dining room for meals, present food and beverage choices to patrons (residents and guests); assist them, as necessary, in placing their orders for meals; provide these orders to the kitchen, and present ordered menu items. The Server also provides assistance in all food service functions as directed/instructed, in accordance with established policies and procedures.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESBuild positive and supporting relationships in the community to enhance the community culture.Engage residents and connect with them in a genuine, compassionate, and memorable way and enjoy the moment that you spend with the resident.Listed below is an outline of the major duties and responsibilities that you will be required to perform.Set up dining room as instructed. Assure all supplies for the next meal are readily available.May assist cook(s) in preparing and set up of menu items.Assist in menu distribution and resident selection.Serve meals on a timely basis.Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures.Remove soiled china, glassware, and silverware from dining room, take to dishwasher area, and stack in orderly fashion.Tabulate counts and statistics at end of shift as assigned.Assure that all food service procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.Report complaints and grievances to the Food Service Director.Participate and assist in departmental studies and projects as assigned or that may become necessary.Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident information to ensure their rights are protected.Maintain positive customer relationships.Attend and participate in in-service educational classes, on the job training programs and mandatory associates meetings.Report all hazardous conditions/equipment to the Food Service Director immediately.Report all accidents/incidents as established by departmental policies.Develop and maintain a good working rapport with departmental personnel, as well as other departments within the community, to assure that food service can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the residents.Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the department.Assure that safety regulations are followed at all times.Other related duties as may become necessary or as directed.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
