As a Server at Salt & Marrow, you will play a key role in delivering our signature guest experience.Job OverviewAs a Server at StepStone Hospitality, Inc., you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our guests while adhering to company standards. You will be the primary point of contact for guests during their dining experience, providing them with menu information, taking orders, and ensuring their needs are met throughout their meal. Additionally, you will assist with various operational duties such as maintaining cleanliness in service areas, processing payments, and working collaboratively with your team to create a positive experience for all guests.Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Service & Administration:
    • Greet guests warmly and assist with seating.
    • Present the menu, suggest items, answer questions, and provide detailed information on food and drink options.
    • Memorize menu items, daily specials, and wine selections.
    • Accurately take and relay orders to the kitchen/bar using the point of sale system.
    • Monitor guests throughout their meal, address additional requests, and ensure timely service.
    • Process guest payments and manage cash handling procedures.
    • Assist with clearing, resetting tables, and maintaining cleanliness in service areas.
    • Handle any guest complaints with professionalism and escalate to management as needed.
    • Adhere to proper etiquette for seating and telephone communication.
  • Professionalism and Conduct:
    • Complete all tasks with professionalism, ensuring a high standard of service at all times.
    • Demonstrate the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and handle pressure effectively.
    • Take responsibility for personal growth and development, maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor.
    • Actively listen and communicate effectively with both guests and colleagues, resolving conflicts respectfully.
Additional Qualifications
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hotel departments and functions.
  • Understanding of health, safety, and legal regulations.
  • Strong mathematical and computer skills; high school diploma preferred.
  • Relevant experience and training required.
  • Ability to obtain necessary licenses or certifications.
  • CPR and first aid training preferred.
  • Additional language skills are a plus.
