POSITION DESCRIPTIONPosition Overview:We are looking for a dedicated Service Advisor for our body shop. The role involves understanding automotive systems and procedures to ensure accurate repairs, while maintaining quality control standards. You will work closely with the Body Shop Manager and the Parts Department to ensure smooth operations. Staying updated by reading manuals and keeping up with technical bulletins is important. The job includes visually inspecting damage, accurately estimating repairs, and thoroughly documenting them. Additionally, you will interact with customers and various departments within the retail facility, and manage paperwork such as repair documentation and charges.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet and build relationships with customers, explain needed repairs and costs, and follow up to ensure their satisfaction.
- Visually assess vehicle damage and, when necessary, dismantle parts of the vehicle for a better evaluation.
- Fill out estimate sheets and work orders to document damage, required repairs, and itemized parts and materials.
- Calculate labor and painting costs to determine the total cost of repairs.
- Assign repair orders to Body Shop team members based on their schedules, availability, and specialties.
- Review the quality of repair jobs done by Technicians to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Understand insurance company repair estimates and verify their accuracy and completeness.
- Complete parts order sheets, find alternative sources for hard-to-find parts, and check parts upon delivery.
- Work independently, manage your time and workflow effectively.
- Communicate effectively with customers from various backgrounds and address their concerns.
- Use your knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures to accurately estimate repairs.
- Oversee multiple jobs simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail regarding quality, costs, and workflow.
- Accurately fill out estimate sheets, work orders, and parts orders, and post payments on work orders upon job completion.
- Work closely with the Parts Department within the retail facility.
- Ensure estimates are accurate by referring to catalogs and manuals for costs and repair procedures.
- Maintain quality control and inspection policies and accurately estimate workflow within the Body Shop.
- Document repairs, required parts, labor involved, and accurate charges for each.
- Complete estimate sheets, work orders, and post customer payments to work orders upon receipt.
