The compensation for this appointment will range from $22.00 hourly and reflects what California Baptist University reasonably expects to pay for this staff appointment. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant, as well as market conditions. In addition to wages, CBU offers a robust suite of employee benefits.
Position Summary Information
Summary
Performs a variety of duties in support of Campus Store and Team Store operations such as cashiering, oversee staffing of games and outdoor events, and merchandising of the Campus Store and Team Store. Evenings and weekends will be required for games, and events for on or off-campus locations .
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Other duties may be assigned.
* Operates cash register and accepts payments of cash, checks, credit cards, gift cards, department charges, and student vouchers as needed. Provides quality customer service.
* Assists with buyback transactions and restocking of related course materials.
* Assists with training student cashiers on the use of cash registers, as needed.
* Responsible for assisting with the opening or closing of the store as needed.
* Assists with maintaining the accuracy of inventory and pricing of merchandise.
* Remain current and knowledgeable on the use of the computerized point of sale (POS) system, including hardware and software upgrades and changes.
* Assists with maintaining orderliness of the sales floor, merchandising, and restocking of shelves and displays.
* Assists with annual and periodic inventory counts and verifications.
* Support the eCommerce team to pull and process online orders as needed.
* Coordinate event planning of merchandising, and scheduling with Head Cashier for all Campus Store, Team Store, and outdoor events.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position could be responsible for assigning work and/or giving direction to part-time Student Workers, in order to complete work assignments.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit; and requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard or other office equipment. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers; and speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment, with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards.
Education and/or Experience
Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
